Dr. Devin J. Swiner, better known as “Dr. Dev,” was born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, where her love for science began early. To her, chemistry is like a puzzle, where every experiment helps reveal a bigger picture. Today, she has turned that passion into a career that blends cutting-edge pharmaceutical research with mentorship and advocacy for diversity in STEM. As a pharmaceutical scientist, Dr. Dev specializes in drug product development for early and late-stage programs. Her expertise includes mass spectrometry, dissolution, amorphous solid dispersion development, predictive stability tools, and analytical method development and validation, all vital to delivering safe, effective medicines to patients around the world. But Dr. Dev’s work does not stop at the bench. She is a STEM advocate, mentor, and thought leader, dedicated to empowering the next generation of scientists. Through blogs, science communication, seminars, and workshops, she shares strategies for professional growth and champions diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in every space she enters. Dr. Dev is also a proud leader in the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE), currently serving as a Board Member At-Large, and advisor for several key initiatives to strengthen career development and leadership opportunities. |
