The Architect of Impact Model

|
Most professionals are taught how to work hard within systems.
Few are taught how to intentionally design how they operate within them. The Architect of Impact Model helps scientists and professionals take greater agency over how their identity, expertise, relationships, and leadership translate into meaningful influence. Developed through years of leadership, mentoring, and speaking across STEM communities, the framework helps individuals align identity, visibility, relationships, and authority to create meaningful and sustainable impact. The model consists of five interconnected phases. Position — Identity Clarifying how you define yourself, your expertise, and the perspective you bring to your field. Articulate — Visibility Communicating your ideas, contributions, and expertise in ways that help others understand your value. Engineer — Relationships Building ecosystems of relationships that support collaboration, opportunity, and growth. Anchor — Authority Developing internal authority that allows you to operate confidently in high performance environments. Influence — Impact Using identity, expertise, and relationships together to shape systems and create meaningful change. These phases are sequential for learning and cyclical for growth, allowing professionals to revisit and refine each stage as their careers evolve. |
